Cafe Abbondanza sits just a few steps from the buzz of Times Square and Broadway, making it a practical pit stop for anyone juggling a busy New York day. This spot blends the convenience of a small store with a made-to-order cafe, catering well to locals and visitors who need a quick, satisfying meal without breaking the bank.

The interior is modest and unassuming, even a bit worn around the edges, but the vibe upstairs offers a small, casual seating area where you can take a moment away from the street’s chaos. It’s not a fancy setting by any means, but it fits the neighborhood’s lively, no-frills character.

What stands out here is the straightforward, hearty food—generous portions of sandwiches, paninis, and bags that pack quite a punch for the price. The menu leans American with a diverse enough offering to keep it interesting, highlighted by simple classics like the chicken teriyaki dish or a reliably solid bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. For a grab-and-go breakfast or lunch near the theater district, it’s clear many locals find comfort in the quick service and friendly kitchen staff who seem to know regulars by name.

Visitors with varying tastes can find something here, from fresh fruit to snacks, alongside traditional grab-and-go sandwiches and hot meals. The quality surprises those who might initially dismiss it based on its storefront, with some returning for its reliable breakfast choices and even its Colombian coffee. It’s not a place to linger for hours but a spot to refuel during a packed day exploring or working in the area.

Overall, Cafe Abbondanza appeals most to people looking for a no-fuss, affordable meal in a central location with a genuinely local feel. Early mornings or lunch hours on a weekday seem ideal to catch the friendly staff in action and enjoy a quick, filling bite before heading back out into the city’s hustle.

This place looks a little sketchy at first, but the looks are very much deceiving. This cafe is an excellent spot for cheap, delicious food by Time Square and Broadway. It functions as both a convenience store and a made to order cafe. They have plenty of snacks, sandwiches, salads, hot meals, and more. I ordered the $12.99 chicken teriyaki, and it tasted delicious. The portion was very large and they certainly were not cheap on providing a lot of chicken. I was very impressed by this meal. The interior of the building needs a bit of updating because it looks like a shady convenience store, but I assure you this place is better than it looks. If you’re looking for a good, cheap bite to eat near Times Square, I highly recommend this place.

SOOOO YUMMY !! We love this little spot - the kitchen staff/chefs are so friendly and they have a talent for making a rad sandwich and bagel! They really fill it up and make it worth your $$. There’s some cute seating upstairs - it’s not 5 star seating but it’s perfect for the vibe of the place. We will be back for sure

Solid bacon egg and cheese. The guy working the kitchen was also super fast and you can tell he had a lot of regulars. Highly recommended. This place should have more reviews than it actually has. Don’t skip it and go for a bigger more corporate looking place instead.

The store does not look inviting but the food was good. We got the Tuna Panini and the Chicken, pesto Panini, green grapes, some drinks, fruit and chips to feed three people and paid about $50. The grapes were so good. Heard from a loyal customer their breakfast to order to go is amazing. Am a returning customer for sure.

We had a NY bagel and French Toast with some fruits. It was surprisingly tasty. The Colombian coffee was also good. Alex and his colleagues were friendly. We wish them nice holidays! There's a place upstairs where you can eat btw. The llama agrees

Great breakfast sandwiches. You can make whatever you want. Only thing is that they could get better bagels

Old school vibe where it’s a deli and a quick convenient store all thrown into one. Was looking for a quick sandwich with bacon and eggs, and they have one on the menu looking almost to what I was looking for. They also have cheese and hashbrown as well. They call it the NY breakfast sandwich. Ordered two, and it was da bomb! Perfect amount of grease with two eggs, two cheese slices, bacon and a deep fried hashbrown. Your taste bud will thank you as you go through each layer of flavor. It was delicious. I am definitely coming back. Did I mention it was quick and friendly? Love it.
